How Do you Start your Room Design?

Did I mention I'm moving?  Yeah, I guess I did.  Did I mention that I am obsessed with all the design potential of every single room in our new house?  Carrie from Hazardous Design blog made me laugh last week when she asked me if I was lying awake at night planning the rooms.  Umm, are you spying on me?  I literally cannot fall asleep each night because I'm thinking of colour and fabric and all the magical transformations that will soon take place.

I thought I would start putting together design boards so that I can actually move forward with the creating.  I'm sure you will fall off your chair when you discover that the first room to get a board is my daughter's.  It all started with this so-sweet fabric by Michael Miller that we both fell in love with.  It's not too grown up but she can definitely grown into it.

The fabric is going to be used for curtains.  Here's the board that I created.
Oh for the love of all things girly!  I want to spend the rest of my life in a room exactly like this.
Happy Friday friends!

My girls' room was the first to get the full treatment in this and our last house, too. Just so much fun to work on a sweet space.

  2. Wow, you are on top of things! But I get it! We are going to be purchasing a home here at the end of the year and I am already thinking of color schemes and such, but not much more than that until I actually know the layout of the home. Very cute girls room design. Love that fabric.

  8. That fabric is absolutely gorgeous! Love it! Like you, I always think about room planning and room designs, often lying awake in the middle of the night when I just moved in to our new (older) home a year earlier. I guess all designers/ design enthusiasts are cursed that way, aren't we?

Good luck with the move. Looking forward to see your new home and your future room designs!

    Happy weekend!
