Things That Make Me Happy

It's the simple things that matter in life.  Things like the company of a good friend, an afternoon canoeing on the perfect lake, a smile from your favourite baby or you know, the opening of a new West Elm store.

In case you are thinking that I am talking about a Vancouver location, I could only wish for that miracle.  The new store is opening in Seattle and while it's not a short jaunt, a 3-hour drive makes Seattle a nice weekend destination.  For all of you living in the Pacific Northwest look for the opening this October.

Have a happy weekend friends.  The only thing better than a weekend is a LONG weekend!

  3. West Elm is one of my favorites. I'm glad my closest is 3 hours away...unfortunately (but fortunately) there is always on-line shopping. ;)

  6. Oh yeah girl!!! So excited for you! Kind of shocked that there is no West Elm in Vancouver though?! There is one in Portland if you just can't wait any longer. It is inspiration overload I tell you.

  7. I love West Elm. We recently had a take our daughter to camp in Columbus, Ohio where they have an excellent shopping area with West Elm among the stores. With William-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Sur La Table all with in yards of each other I was in heaven!

  8. Love these images, especially the last pic of the bedroom. There's no West Elm anywhere near central Alberta :(
Have a wonderful long weekend, Carol!

  9. Getting to West Elm is a road trip for me, but it might be necessary. Nothing like seeing everything in person!

  10. West Elm is my favorite, too! When I was living in North Carolina, we don't have any West Elm stores. I think the closest West Elm is in NY (that's over 11 hours car's drive). So, I usually bought stuff online. Now that I am living in the Chicago suburbs, we go there once in a while. Still not very near, but 1 hour car's drive is doable in my opinion.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. I once drove 3 hours to get to the nearest Ikea. I think I'd also endure that trek to get to a West Elm store!!! :)
