O'verlays

There's a reason that Ikea is so well loved.  They make decent furniture for mega inexpensive prices.  While I love their functionality I don't always love that they look like everybody else's Ikea pieces.  What can a girl do about that?  Enter O'verlays.

This company is the creative brain child of two brilliant ladies who clearly saw a need and decided to fill the void.  O'verlays is a lightweight, decorative fretwork that attaches to the front of furniture to add pizzaz.  It can be painted and repainted so it's a dream for someone like me who likes to change things up every 5 minutes.

Here's what just arrived in the mail for me.  This is being added to the front of my daughter's dresser.  How awesome that this piece is named Olivia as is my daughter.

This small circle will be wrapped around the sides of an extremely boring side table.

Here are some of the projects featured on O'verlays website.

For all you Canadians who don't like to pay tax on cross border shopping I should mention that these pieces are made in the US so no tax was charged.  The only additional cost was the shipping.  Stay tuned for the progress of my projects.

  14. Hmmmm.....makes me think about doing this in my own daughter's room. I actually have a post about her room today -- I'm having trouble deciding which bed to buy. One of the choices is the Ikea Malm bed. I'm going to check if there are overlays for it!

  27. Love these! The square pattern looks amazing on the mirrored cabinets in the bedroom. And I love the circle pattern you bought - I'm totally into circles :-) The cool thing is that these could be applied to any pieces of furniture, not just pieces from Ikea.
