I am Still Resolved

I don't normally make New Year's Resolutions because I feel like a loser if/when I can't stick to them.  This year was different though.  Instead of resolving to give up something I decided to resolve to actually do something that I have been wanting to do for a while...P90X.

I'm just finishing week 2 and surprisingly it hasn't killed me yet.  After the holiday food and drink-athon I'm hoping to fit into my jeans again very soon .

What about you?  Are you still sticking to your resolutions or did you kick them to the curb already?

  1. I'll be blogging about how to hide the monster treadmill I bought . . . soon. I have used it twice, which is a record for me. Normally I ditch fitness plans after the first day.

    Good luck with yours!!

  6. Good for you! Ummmm, more walking, less talking about walking, is supposed to happen here, but let's just say I'm not weighing in just yet since I can count the number of walks on one hand still!

  8. I have to say, that this is the first year I've really committed to a resolution...and I'm even more passionate about it now than I was when I started! I am trying to pay off all of our debt this year. And I WILL do it, no matter what!

  9. Good for you Carol! I can't say I am doing as well:) I am back at my kickboxing three days a week but I have weakened already on eating healthy. Just had a handful of chips and I bought myself a Dairy Milk Chocolate bar for later. Although I have stopped drinking wine during the week and I've stuck to that pretty well. I'm trying!!

  10. Good for you - I've heard it's nuts :) If you have an iphone, you must get the Nike Training Club app - it's my fave! Basically a personal trainer in your phone, and a lot of them you can do at home with no or minimal equipment. Enjoy P90!

  11. Congratulations on starting P90X! We did it a while back and it is SERIOUS and it WORKS. (BTW, if you need extra motivation, check out the beachbody message boards. Those always helped me when I started to lose motivation.) Keep us updated on how it goes!

  12. This seems like the healthy way to do it. Better than what I'm doing. Which is eating cereal for dinner. ;)

  13. congrats on starting and sticking to it! I don't usually make a lot of resolutions but back in November I found out I was insulin resistant so I've been forced to a low GI diet and maintaining my exercise routine. Probably a blessing in disguise since I can't have any excuses now! :)

  14. impressive! I've already fallen off my resolution path and then back on again and then back off....consistency is my main problem!

  15. Congratulations and good luck! I'm still eating carbs (my downfall) but my husband and I are taking classes together at the gym and it has been a big motivator.

  16. I have a friend who's been doing the P90X program for a few months and she's had great results. I'm currently out of exercising commission thanks to a twisted pelvic bone and a nerve problem :-( I've gotten back to doing light running on the treadmill, but I can't do heavy workouts or Irish dance, which totally sucks.

I don't make New Year's resolutions per se. Instead, I write a list of things I want to do and accomplish during the year. 2011 went pretty well, and 2012 has started off on the right track :-)

  17. Ha funny! My husband started it a few months before Christmas ....... I think the novelty has worn off but every time he goes to work out, I praise him. He refuses to do the yoga one. I however, would only do the yoga one. I applaud you girlfriend!!

  18. We have P90X, it kicks my butt. I do like his goofiness though, it kind of breaks up the seriousness. The Kempo X is my favorite. (The yoga gets a little monotonous, IMO.) Good luck Carol!
