Cheap & Cheerful - Upcycled Jars

This is another one of those projects that is long overdue.  My pantry is usually filled with little plastic bags of seeds and grains that I've bought from the bulk store.  It's ugly to look at all those little bags and impossible to find what you're looking for.  I've been saving up my jars that would normally end up in recycling until I had just the right amount.  A little paint, a little grosgrain ribbon and a little hot glue and I'm adding more organization to my pantry.  For me, organization = love.

Here are the supplies...

1. Spray lids and use a paint pen to add a cute little design (pinch cheeks now!)
2. Print out some labels.
3. Attach ribbon using hot glue and then affix label.
4. Fill with stuff and rejoice in the organizational beauty.

Happy Friday everyone.  Have a great weekend!

  3. We have a million mismatched containers in our pantry--I love that you sprayed the caps to match! (And of course orange and green is one of my fave color combos!)

  4. So clever, Carol! Your pantry looks great! I love to use recycled jars with sealed lids for storing touch-up paint. I label them with the manufacturer's name and colour number, whether it's semi-gloss, eggshell, etc. and what room or furniture piece it's used for.
    Have a wonderful weekend, Carol!

  5. I thought I was doing good getting labels on my jars until I saw your ribbon + labels. I have ribbon, how come I never thought of that? Looks great Carol. Have a great weekend.

  14. Fun and inspiring! It must be such a pleasure to open the doors to your pantry now - a burst of cheer! I have been saving jars, but recycling their lids as I wasn't thinking of repurposing them this way. Hmmmmm! PS - I left some stuff for you at the store on 15th & Marine Drive ;-) It was by far the best stop for me this trip!

  16. Travel, which was once either a necessity or an adventure, has become very largely a commodity, and from all sides we are persuaded into thinking that it is a social requirement, too.
