Emerald Green in The House

Happy Monday!  I'm giving you a Monday wakeup call with this big, bold colour.  I am thinking of adding some emerald green to my master bedroom redesign.  I don't think I'd be brave enough to do an entire room but a little pinch is awesome.

So, what are your thoughts on emerald green?  Love it or is it way too much of a statement for you?

  2. I have some emerald green in my wardrobe. I'd love to introduce it somewhere in the house, but it just doesn't work with my existing colour palette. Maybe in the next house!

  3. Your tips for successfully working emerald into a room are great and so helpful ... you're so generous sharing your color expertise. I've been thinking about a small accent punch of emerald in my kitchen (maybe the base of my little island) and since you mentioned it works well with mid-tone woods (my cabinets) and animal print (my Baltic Brown granite counters have always suggested an animal print to me) and goes well with gray (my kitchen stainless and maybe wall color) it almost seems pre-destined :) Thanks Carol! Hope all is well with you.

  4. I love this colour, and I'm not a 'green' fan....that being said my whole master bedroom is green ;) I think this is a small doses kind of colour - like coral but maybe I'm just a chicken! The stools with the leopard print. YOWZA.

  5. I don't think I could do it in my own home but it is luxurious. I just walked through Bloomingdales and saw the most amazing Ralph Lauren emerald green velvet chesterfield yesterday. :)

  6. I love it but have to admit it's not the easiest color to work into your home!

  10. I agree that small doses are good like those gorgeous stools. How's the bedroom redesign coming along?

  11. Okay, I'm gonna say that I can only take emerald green in small doses also. I want one of those fig trees and I think that is all the green I could handle in my house. But then again, I'm all about black, white and muted colors so seeing it somewhere else could work for me. I like to see it on money also :-)

  12. Great tips! If the colour of the year was 80s forest green, my basement bathroom would have it toally covered. hah :)

  15. Emerald will forever remind me of my stay at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. Kelly Werstler used it everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE! You'd think it would be too much, but it was oh, so gorgeous.
